MBSM-200/50-1200 Wraparound Jacket Repair Sleeve
Raychem Heat Shrink Products offer a superior alternative to hand-taped layers or force-fit rubber parts. It’s an option that lets the installer duplicate the cable system’s performance. During installation, the heat shrink technology rebuilds the cable jacket with crosslinked materials specifically formulated to match cable performance.
High abrasion resistance, flexibility and sealant are combined in a tough modified polyolefin material from which MBSM wraparounds are made. It can be quickly positioned in place by means of its rail and channel closure. Heating above 125°C causes the repair sleeve to shrink in diameter to fit the cable. At the same time, the adhesive liner melts and seals against fluids and dirt, thus completing the job.

- For use on standard poly- or elastomeric-insulated/jacketed cables, which may include aluminum or steel armoring and PILC.
- MBSM provides a moisture-vapor transmission (MVT) barrier for repairing and rejacketing LC-shield and moisture impervious cables. These sleeves do not provide electrical insulation.
- The heat-activated sealant system is designed to provide positive protection from external moisture.
- Since MBSM is heat-shrinkable, several cable sizes and types can be repaired by any one size of MBSM wraparound. This one-step installation method ensures a tight, moisture-proof seal which is reliable and repeatable.
