BCIC-7.5D/18-3 Medium Voltage Insulation Kit
TE Connectivity’s (TE) BCIC Medium Voltage Insulation Kit provides insulation to insulator/bushing and busbar connections for enhancing insulation in retrofit substation and overhead applications. They utilize cold applied manufacturing technology.
TE’s BCIC covers can be quickly customized in the field with minor trimming of entry and exit holes to more readily fit required dimensions. Once installed, the covers can be re-entered for inspection and other maintenance needs and then re-used, reducing overall lifetime costs. Fewer components allows for lowering complexity of installation in less time.
Use the kits to protect energized connections from flashovers due to contact from birds, squirrels and other wildlife, perching, landing and nesting. Plus, BCIC Medium Voltage Insulation Kits can be used with other TE products such as heat shrink tubing and insulation tape making an effective insulation enhancement system against accidental phase-phase or phase-ground contact.
